Both our Amblecote and Stourbridge branches have been working with various local organisations for a number of years and our Amblecote branch works closely with Amblecote Community Church (it helps that we share the building!) who make regular donations to Black Country Food Bank. The food bank helps vulnerable people and families who are in crisis by providing them with emergency food supplies whilst they work on a long term solution to their difficulties. This has an enormous impact on their lives during times of great need.
The food bank started in 2006 and was set up to help feed local people who are experiencing hardship by meeting their most basic need for food. They work with local churches and organisations around the black country and support people from all backgrounds.
The food bank also takes financial donations which enables them to purchase items as well as to heat and light the warehouse where everything is stored. Regular donations help the food bank plan for the future and keep providing such a valued service to the local community.
We now have permanent donation stations set up at both our Amblecote and Stourbridge branches and families are welcome to make donations at all times throughout the year.

We also support Brierley Hill Baby Bank with donations as many of our families offer to bring in unwanted items for our settings and we feel they would be of much more benefit to be shared with any families in need.
The charity aims to prevent or relieve the impact of poverty in Brierley Hill and surrounding areas by providing families with very young children the much needed essentials that they would struggle to provide for themselves. The charity was set up in 2019 to not only provide families with newborn essentials but signpost them to other services such as NHS health professionals, family support services and other community organisations.

Each branch plans events throughout the year to support the charities and rather than asking for monetary donations we politely request consumable items for the food bank or unwanted baby items for the baby bank. Throughout these processes we have seen a vast amount of donations being brought in ready to be shared with families in need. We share with the children the importance of supporting charities and helping those in different situations and we are so proud to see so many of our families support us to make as much difference as we can to our local community.
