Parent interview

We have recently had the opportunity to interview some of our parents and families about their experience with us at Little Hands Daycare. This is what two of our parents had to say:

Your favourite thing about the nursery?

“Definitely the staff. They are all so brilliant- really nurturing, fun and knowledgeable. My son has positive relationships with all the staff that work with him, and we know he’s always being well cared for.”

What would you like other parents to know about the nursery?

“How much effort is put into everything that happens- the activities are creative and engaging, the topics are interesting and relevant, that staff notice and observe small details and follow children’s interests. I am confident that all the children are nurtured as little individuals, and the staff know them really well.”

One thing you wish you had known before your little one started at nursery?

“You don’t just drop your child off at Little Hands, you become part of the nursery community- which is really lovely. We have been into nursery for some really lovely stay + play sessions and fundraising events, so we feel really included and welcome.”

Parent Interview 2:

Your favourite thing about the nursery?

“It’s impossible to decide between how welcoming, friendly and accommodating all the staff are (both the EYEs in the rooms but also the management team), and the massive variety of activities and learning opportunities the children are presented with.  Both of our children often come home having had a day full of doing things we’d either never have considered they would be able to manage, or things far more messy and creative than what we would dare do at home!”

What would you like other parents to know about the nursery?

“It’s absolutely worth taking a bit of time on a Sunday evening to upload a parent observation through Nursery In A Box to show what you’ve been up to over the weekend. The staff often tell us that they really love seeing what the children have been doing, even if it’s nothing particularly exciting or new. The photos we’ve sent have been a really useful tool for calming down our toddler when he’s been upset, and the teams in both toddlers and pre-toddlers have found wonderful ways of bringing these memories into the plans and activities for the week ahead.”

One thing you wish you had known before your little one started at nursery?

“That it was somehow possible for my laundry pile to get EVEN bigger! But all the bags of wet or paint covered clothes are worth it when you see the children’s artwork on the walls and photos on the daily diary of all the messy, sensory play they’ve been doing.”
