A message from our owner

Welcome to the multi-award winning Little Hands Daycare. Providing the highest quality childcare and education for children from birth to five years in the Dudley borough. I hope you have had the opportunity to explore our brand new website over the past week since our exciting launch to celebrate the new-look Little Hands.

At the start of 2010, I could only ever dream that Little Hands was going to be the amazing place it is now, having supported over 1000 children and their families over the past 10 years. It’s extremely overwhelming to think back to when I initially worked as a childminder in my home with my assistant. We cared for a maximum of 6 children each day, which is quite a difference to Little Hands today. We now have a team of almost 50 incredible staff who care for and educate up to 115 children each day.

Our wonderful team work incredibly hard to create a secure, warm and welcoming environment where you are 100% happy to leave your children in our care. As Little Hands started as a childminding service, we still have that ‘family feel’ where babies and children are cared for as valued members of our ever expanding extended family.

Please take some time reading the testimonials on our website. These all come from the hearts of parents just like you and talk about our high standards of care and education. Our team are always available to answer any questions, to guide and support and to listen when you have suggestions or worries. Our main aim is to support you and your family, ensuring that starting nursery is the smoothest possible transition.

Little Hands Daycare Staff - Sharon Ramsey

I’ve been there; looking for a childcare provider for my own two children many years ago because I was making my return to work. It was when I was thinking about nurseries I realised what a huge position of trust it is to place your baby in the care of a team of people you have just met.

In a nursery, I wanted clean, homely facilities and caring, warm people to look after my children. Yes, the standards of early education also needed to be high, but first and foremost I wanted to know my children would be loved and happy. I wanted to know they would get cuddled when they were sad; that they would get help when they needed it; and that they would play and be happy.

A long career later, and my passion for childcare was still there. So much so I decided to re-train and re-educate myself whilst working in a nursery environment. After some time, my passion continued to grow and I eventually took the plunge (after even more training) to become a childminder at the end of 2009. I embarked on a long journey of planning, meetings, research and many sleepless nights and in April 2010, Little Hands opened its doors for the very first time. It has been the most amazing journey and I feel truly blessed to have met and worked with so many amazing babies, children and their families.

Our staff team has since grown from 2 to 48,  and I have to give recognition to the truly wonderful people I have working with me, who really do make Little Hands the place it is. They support my values and ethos, and work tirelessly to provide the very best care. We are a close knit team; we laugh lots; many of us are parents ourselves and therefore share the trials and tribulations of parenting, but most importantly we all share the same view that babies and children deserve the very best care and early education that we can possibly provide, and we will always strive to achieve that.

Ultimately, Little Hands has evolved over the years from our amazing parents’ comments and recommendations. The ‘children’ who first inspired me to open Little Hands are now 25 and 21 years old! Since then, I have also gained two grandchildren (and of course, they both attend Little Hands too). Whilst it would be fair to say 2020 has been a challenging year for us all, I am so proud to say that Little Hands is still here, still thriving, and looking forward to what we can achieve together over the next 10 years. It is with great pleasure that I can showcase our website with you, so you can see a small snapshot of how wonderful it is to be a child at Little Hands Daycare.
