Learning and development
How will your child be learning?
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) describes the time in your child’s life between birth and five years as being crucial to their growth and development. The curriculum is incredibly important, as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and success. Our bespoke curriculum ensures that each child’s early years experiences are happy, exciting, and challenging in order to support their development.
The seven areas of learning set out in the EYFS are carefully considered when planning future learning experiences to enhance children’s learning and development. Our team teach and support each child by providing tailored and differentiated activities to meet their individual needs. Research suggests that children learn best through playing and exploring, being active and through creating and thinking critically which is at the heart of our well-resourced and inspiring environments.
Children should mostly develop the three prime areas first:
Communication
and language
Physical
development
Personal, social and emotional development
These prime areas are those most essential for your child’s healthy development and future learning.
As your child grows, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in four specific areas:
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the world
Expressive arts and design
